Euroflorist strengthens its position in the UK market through an acquisition of iFlorist, the third largest florist network in UK operating the e-commerce sites iFlorist, iHampers and Flowerfete.
Euroflorist operates in 12 countries and has its largest market in UK, followed by Sweden. In 2010 Euroflorist entered the UK market through an acquisition of eFlorist, which online business has grown with 20% per year since then. With the acquisition of iFlorist, Euroflorist increase its order volume with approx. 30% in the UK and strengthens its delivery network of florists.
“We have had fantastic growth in UK the last five years and this acquisition strengthens our position further in the UK market. Among other things iFlorist has a well developed B2B offering, which we can apply in our other markets. In addition, we can incorporate their online business in our environment and create synergies affecting our EBITDA positively”, says Jesper Kärrbrink deputy chairman at Euroflorist.
Euroflorist is Europe’s leading online flower gift delivery service provider with operations in twelve European countries. Every year, Euroflorist delivers millions of floral greetings, reception flowers, gifts and funeral wreaths through 7 000 directly affiliated flower shops. Since its inception in 1982, Euroflorist has grown internationally through its own establishments and through acquisitions of flower networks. Euroflorist began to offer online flower gifts as early as 1995. A large share of the growth over the past 15 years has been driven by online sales, which today represent approximately 60% of the total sales.
