Implema will undergo a leadership transition as part of a planned CEO succession on April 1, 2026. Tobias Simolin has been appointed CEO, succeeding co-founder Jörgen Aronsson, who will step down after more than two decades as CEO.
Implema today employs 300 people and generates revenues of SEK 500 million. Over the past year, the company has taken several key strategic steps, including the acquisition of CoreChange’s SAP and Business Intelligence operations, as well as an expansion into the United States.
The CEO succession was initiated by Jörgen and carried out through a structured process led by the Board of Directors. Tobias, who currently leads the company’s Business Transformation unit, has been appointed to lead Implema into its next phase.
“We have built a strong platform over several years, built on close customer relationships and a clear ability to create business value. After more than 20 years as CEO, Jörgen expressed a desire to transition into a different role, and we jointly felt that this was the right time to move forward with the transition. We are now entering the next phase of the company’s growth, with the ambition of building Implema into a SEK 1 billion turnover company. Tobias has already demonstrated both the commercial drive and the leadership required to lead Implema into this next phase,” said Lars Wollung, Chairman of the Board of Implema.
Well positioned for the next phase
Tobias Simolin earned a degree from Luleå University of Technology and brings extensive experience in the IT and consulting industry. He has held senior leadership roles focused on business development, growth, and complex transformation initiatives across both domestic and international markets
He joined Implema following the acquisition of parts of CoreChange and has quickly become a key member of the leadership team.
Tobias assumes the role of CEO at a time when demand for digital transformation continues to grow.
“Implema is in a very strong position. This is a company with a unique combination of entrepreneurial spirit, deep expertise, and a clear focus on creating business value for our customers. We will continue to strengthen our position as a leading provider in ERP and digital transformation in the Nordics. I look forward to continuing this journey together with our employees and customers,” said Tobias Simolin, incoming CEO of Implema.
Jörgen Aronsson to remain in a strategic role
Jörgen Aronsson will remain with Implema as Senior Advisor, where he will primarily focus on customer development, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
“I am extremely proud of the journey Implema has made since we founded the company nearly thirty years ago. Now it is time for the next phase, and I am pleased to hand over to Tobias. With his experience, energy, and leadership, he is the right person to continue building Implema. I look forward to supporting him and the broader organization in my role as Senior Advisor,” said Jörgen Aronsson, outgoing CEO of Implema.
