Northern Environmental and Water Solutions AB (“NEWS”), majority owned by Litorina, has signed an agreement to sell its operational business units, FANN VA-Teknik, Skandinavisk Kommunalteknik and Alunda Polyeten to Wienerberger AG.
- NEWS was created by Litorina in 2014 when it became umbrella company for initiatives within sustainable sewage solutions
- During Litorina’s ownership NEWS’ holdings have developed into strong independent business units with organic growth above market and EBITDA margin nearing 20%
- Wienerberger AG, a leading international provider of innovative, ecological solutions for the entire building envelope – in the fields of new build and renovation, as well as infrastructure in water and energy management. wienerberger generated revenues of €4.6 billion and an operating EBITDA of approx. €754 million in 2025

NEWS offers a complete range of wastewater solutions outside the gravity-based municipal system through its subsidiaries, including. SKT that was founded in the late 1970s and is the leading company in the market for pressurized sewage solutions in the Nordic region. SKT is based in Sweden, with activities also in Norway, Finland and Denmark. FANN, founded in 1990 and focuses on individual sewage solutions essentially based on passive wastewater treatment technology and operates predominantly in Sweden, Finland and Norway. Alunda Polyeten, tailored manufacturing of products for SKT and FANN.

The closing of the transaction is expected during Q2 2026.
